Hand lamination

    What it is

Hand lamination is a flexible lay-up process that produces parts of any shape, size and wall thickness. Fibreglass is the most widely used material for small and medium series. It is affordable, dimensionally stable and can be shaped to individual requirements. It can also be made in a flame-retardant version for rail vehicles or cruise ships.

Fibreglass parts are made on negative moulds. The chosen colour is applied to the mould first, followed by glass fibres that are impregnated with polyester or vinyl ester resin.

    When it fits

    • Large, bulky parts such as water slides, hulls or sculptures
    • Geometrically demanding and bespoke projects
    • One-off production as well as small and medium series

    Quality and process control

We have our own technological and testing facilities and work to the ISO 9001:2015 quality system.

For large series with high accuracy demands we also offer the closed RTM process. We are happy to assess which technology suits your project once we see the brief.
