    About the project

For the Slovak pool manufacturer Compass Pools from Senec, we built the model and the negative mould for series production of the Yacht Pool. The project stood out for its attractive design, which brings together the idea of a yacht and a swimming pool. The original idea is to combine a relaxing whirlpool area with a sporty swimming section.

    Brief and challenge

The yacht shape had to be reconciled with the properties of the material and with exact dimensions. The hardest parts were:

    A ship's bow in laminate

The design of a ship's bow had to be rendered in a way that respected the properties of the laminate, so that the end result was exactly the product required.

    Exact dimensions

The overall dimensions had to match the geometric specification exactly on a pool almost 12 metres long.

    Integrated whirlpool

The whirlpool had to be built right into the shape of the pool.

    Production step by step

    1. Breaking the pool design down into parts in CAD/CAM
    2. Building the full-size model
    3. CNC milling of the complex parts
    4. Finishing the model surface
    5. Hand-laminating the negative mould
    6. Demoulding
    7. Finishing the mould
    8. Transporting the finished mould

    Result

    • A negative mould that serves as the production tool for series-made pools
    • A large-format part of about 60 m² for a pool almost 12 metres long
    • A whirlpool integrated right into the shape of the pool
    • Model and mould completed in 4 months
